Terms of Service
Effective September 4, 2026
These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Threadmap, including its free transcript extractor, developer dashboard, API, and paid minute credits. By creating an account, buying credits, or using the service, you agree to these terms.
The service
Threadmap retrieves available captions from public YouTube videos and, for supported API requests, may create transcripts from publicly accessible video audio. Availability, accuracy, language, timestamps, and processing time depend on the source video and third-party services. We do not guarantee that every video can be processed or that every transcript is error-free.
Accounts and API keys
You must provide accurate account information and keep your sign-in method and API key secure. You are responsible for activity performed with your key. If a key may have been exposed, rotate it immediately in the dashboard. One active API key is currently supported per account.
Minute credits and billing
A Threadmap minute pack currently contains 300 API transcript minutes and costs $9 USD as a one-time payment. It is not a subscription. Credits do not expire, have no cash value, and may not be transferred or resold. Successful API requests are charged by video duration, rounded up to the next whole minute. A 61-second video therefore uses 2 minutes. Failed requests are not charged.
Payments are processed by Stripe. You authorize Stripe and Threadmap to process the displayed one-time charge. Prices, taxes, currencies, and available payment methods are shown before you confirm payment. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.
Acceptable use
You may use Threadmap only for lawful purposes and only where you have the rights or permission needed for your intended use. You must not use the service to violate copyright, privacy, publicity, contractual, or other rights; access private or restricted content; distribute malware; evade limits or security controls; overload or disrupt the service; share or resell API access without written permission; or use automated activity that is abusive or unlawful.
YouTube and third-party services
Threadmap is an independent service and is not affiliated with or endorsed by YouTube or Google. You remain responsible for complying with applicable third-party terms and for how you use transcripts. Rights in source videos and their content remain with their respective owners.
Our intellectual property
Threadmap’s software, branding, website design, and documentation are owned by or licensed to us. These terms give you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive right to use the service; they do not transfer ownership of Threadmap or third-party content.
Service changes and suspension
We may improve, change, limit, or discontinue features to maintain security, reliability, legal compliance, or product quality. We may suspend or terminate access for fraud, abuse, security threats, non-payment, or material violations of these terms. Where practical, we will provide notice of material changes affecting paid credits.
Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Threadmap is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted availability. Nothing in these terms excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Threadmap will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or lost-profit damages. Our aggregate liability arising from the paid service will not exceed the amount you paid to Threadmap during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. These limits do not apply where prohibited by law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service develops. The effective date will be updated, and material changes may be communicated through the website or account interface. Continued use after the updated terms take effect constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
