From playlist to usable text
Playlist import is designed for researchers, content teams, educators, and anyone building a reusable knowledge collection from public YouTube material. Threadmap shows what is in the playlist before processing starts, so you can skip irrelevant videos and understand the estimated credit cost.

Choose up to 10 videos per import instead of spending credits on an entire playlist. The estimated total updates with your selection.
The import runs as a persistent background job. You can close the progress page and return later without losing the queue.
Successful transcripts are saved privately. Search by video title, channel, or words spoken inside the transcript.
Common workflows
Collect lectures, interviews, and explainers into searchable source material. Keep timestamps for returning to the original evidence.
Compare recurring themes, claims, terminology, and audience questions across a curated set of videos.
Build a clean source pack before drafting articles, newsletters, show notes, clips, or social posts in your preferred tools.
Save the transcripts, then use the REST API or remote MCP server when your product or agent needs structured access.
How billing works
Playlist import uses the minute balance in your Threadmap account. Packs are one-time purchases and do not expire. A video with unavailable captions fails without consuming transcript minutes.
Need only one video? The single-video caption extractor is free and does not require an account.

Yes. Threadmap must be able to read the playlist and each selected public video. Private and unavailable items cannot be imported.
The limit keeps estimates understandable and background jobs manageable. You can return to the same playlist and start another selection afterward.
Caption availability is verified during processing because YouTube does not always report auto-generated captions reliably. Failed videos do not use successful transcript minutes.
Yes. The job persists in the background. Recent playlist imports remain linked from your private transcript library when you return.
The library search covers saved video titles, channel names, and words inside the transcript, making a processed playlist useful as a research collection.
Open any saved transcript to copy or download it. The public single-video extractor also supports TXT, Markdown, SRT, and JSON downloads.
